The Process

Four steps to a place

Enquire & register

Complete the online enquiry form below, or telephone our admissions office directly. We will share the school prospectus, confirm availability for your son’s year of entry, and outline any upcoming open events so that your family can experience Cottons before committing to an application.

Submit the application

Lodge the completed application form together with the required supporting documents — a certified birth certificate, the most recent school report cards, and a transfer certificate from the current school where applicable. All documents should be submitted to the admissions office by the published deadline for the relevant entry point.

Interaction & assessment

Boys and their parents or guardians are invited to the School for an age-appropriate interaction with members of the academic team. Boys seeking entry to Std XI also sit a brief written assessment in their chosen stream’s core subjects. The session gives your son an opportunity to see the School at first hand and for us to understand his interests and aspirations.

Offer & enrolment

Successful applicants receive a formal offer of admission. To secure the place, families complete the enrolment documentation and pay the prescribed fees within the acceptance period stated in the offer. The admissions office is available throughout this stage to assist with any questions on boarding arrangements, transport or academic stream selection.

The principal intakes are at LKG (pre-primary) and at Std XI (senior school). Boys joining at Std XI may choose from three academic streams: Science, Commerce, or Humanities. Occasional mid-year vacancies in other classes are considered on merit and subject to availability; please contact the admissions office to enquire about a specific year.

Cottons is a day-cum-boarding school for boys, situated on a 14-acre campus at 15, Residency Road, Bengaluru. Families may apply for day or boarding places according to their son’s year of entry and their own preference. Boarding boys live within the School community and benefit from supervised study, a full programme of co-curricular activities, and the close fellowship of house life under one of the School’s five historic Houses.

The School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and prepares boys for the ICSE examination at the end of Std X and the ISC examination at the end of Std XII. Both qualifications are widely recognised by universities and professional bodies in India and abroad.

The standard requirements are a certified birth certificate, recent academic report cards, and a transfer certificate from the previous school for applicants who are currently enrolled elsewhere. Families seeking boarding places may also be asked to provide additional residential details.
